Loft Conversion Stairs
Loft conversions are an excellent way to make better use of loft space and rather than using it to store stuff that you don’t really need, you can turn your loft into habitable space. Principality Loft Conversions has been doing loft conversions for years and we have a long list of very satisfied clients.
One of the most important aspects of loft conversion in terms of the practical and aesthetics is the loft access. We are the experts in making sure you get the right loft stairs as this tends to have a large impact on the loft conversion itself. However, we always warn clients that building regulations can refuse permission for certain types of loft attic conversion.
The majority of loft conversions require a proper permanent staircase and there are very few conversions where loft ladders can be used. Once you decide to go ahead with your loft conversion, contact us at the earliest opportunity; our expert consultants will visit the property and make an assessment of the job to be done. With all of our experience back of us, our company experts are in a rock solid position to give very good loft conversion advice.
The installation of a traditional staircase is pretty straight forward. Loft conversion regulations stipulate headroom of 2m but 1.8m is acceptable. No standard width has been stipulated but our experts will advise on the safe width of the stair to cover having to leave the loft in an emergency as well. In all probability we will advise that landings top and bottom be included as part of the construction.
Our clients appreciate our suggestions and loft conversion ideas and the spiral design staircase is quite a hit. They look good but tend to take up more space than the traditional staircase does. We do not recommend the spiral design staircase when doing a loft conversion if you plan to convert to a bedroom or any room that will require taking big pieces of furniture up the stairs. To get a bed, desk and other big items up to the loft the traditional staircase is the best.
After the assessment, our loft conversion specialist will advise you on where to locate the staircase, which is a major part of the overall planning process. You may have several ideas about your loft conversion but deciding where the staircase eventually goes may require some adjustment of your ideas. Sometimes second floor ideas may have to be sacrificed in order to locate the staircase. In this case we can make two rooms in the loft itself.
We offer clients the choice of having the loft stairs built at site or choosing from several pre-manufactured staircase models. We also advise clients on how best to utilize the space under the loft stairs. Our motto is to utilize every bit of available space as effectively as possible and storage is often the best choice. Everyone always needs extra storage space!
Our clients generally choose loft stairs based on our expert recommendations and the traditional staircase heads the list. Some people prefer the spiral staircase and others the alternate tread staircase.
Whatever your requirements in terms of loft conversion stairs, we at Principality Loft Conversions have the answers.
